Measles on the rise in the US, where skeptics and anti-vaxxers who do not immunize themselves are increasing. West Texas is in a state of alarm, especially Gaines County, where infections have doubled from 24 to 48 in just a few days.
Thirteen of these patients have been hospitalized for complications. All infections have affected unvaccinated people, both adults and children, and health officials predict a rapid increase in infections "given the particular contagiousness of the disease".
The situation is of similar severity in Georgia, but measles is also increasing in other states: especially in Alaska, New York City, Rhode Island.
