Trump Establishes Office of Faith With 'Last Supper' Photo

Donald Trump has signed a new executive order to establish, for the first time at the White House, an Office of Faith. Paula White, a character with a controversial history, known for being a televangelist, pastor of the so-called prosperity theology, has been called to lead it. For years she has been the spiritual advisor to the president of the United States.

The announcement was accompanied by an image studied in the smallest details. Trump, sitting at his desk in the Oval Office, surrounded by pastors and famous faces. Next to White, there are Travis Johnson and Brad Knight, the Honduran pastor Guillermo Maldonado, the singer Kid Rock and Jonathan Cain, White's husband and keyboardist of Journey.

The shot on social media - The photo was published on the White House's X profile with an evocative caption: "As the Bible says: Blessed are the peacemakers. And to that end, I hope that my greatest legacy, when this is all over, will be known as a peacemaker and unifier." Signed President Donald J. Trump. The shot went viral on the web and some compared it to a modern fresco of the Last Supper.

Who is Paula White -  Paula White, who will lead the Office, is a heretic for many conservative Christians. She preaches that God rewards those who have faith with wealth, a message that for many sounds like a condemnation of the poor. In her sermons, she has warned the faithful: "Support our congregation or God will kill your dreams", going so far as to ask for up to 1,000 dollars to ensure salvation.

Her relationship with Trump is long-standing: on January 6, 2021, before the assault on Congress, she harangued the crowd speaking of "holy audacity" and inviting those present to "defeat every opponent in the name of Jesus". Now, invested with her new role, she raises the stakes: "I have the authority to declare the White House a holy place. It is my presence that sanctifies it".
