At least three people have been stabbed in Dublin, with police arresting one man, Irish media reported. Local police said there was "no reason to believe" the stabbings were terrorist attacks, with the attack taking place in the Stoneybatter neighborhood and the arrest in Manor Square.
Several officers from their cars jumped on the stabber, immobilizing him. The man they stopped "kept yelling at them to leave him alone. He was terrified, as if he didn't expect to be stopped," a witness to the arrest told the newspaper. Nothing is known about him yet. The police said the risk to the public has ended.
Judging from the information released so far, however, the stabber used household tools, perhaps a kitchen knife, perhaps something else, in what appears to have been a casual outburst or an episode of domestic or condominium violence.
