
Greek authorities have declared a state of emergency in the municipality of Thira, where the island of Santorini is located, due to seismic activity. "We have decided to declare a state of emergency in order to address the urgent needs and consequences resulting from the recent seismic activity," the statement reads.
Seismic activity in the maritime area between the islands of Santorini and Amorgos continues with the same frequency as in previous days. The strongest tremor, of magnitude 5.2, occurred on Wednesday night.
