The war in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas , involving Lebanon, Syria and Iran, has reached day 489. Trump's plan for Gaza includes American control of the Strip to rebuild it. The US president hopes that Gaza will be handed over by Israel to the United States after the war so that Palestinians will be "resettled in safer and more beautiful communities, with new homes".
