Greek authorities have issued a seismic alert on the island of Santorini : since Friday, in fact, several tremors up to a maximum magnitude of 4.3 have been recorded in the area. This was announced by the Greek Ministry of Civil Protection. Specifically, it was recommended to close schools for the day on Monday, avoid the use of two minor ports and postpone meetings in closed spaces.

In a statement, the ministry reiterated that "an increase in seismic activity " was occurring and that a "Scientific Committee is constantly monitoring the phenomenon, analyzing the data and updating the planning of preventive actions." The ministry clarified that, "based on the data available so far, there is no reason to be particularly concerned." The volcanic island of Santorini was devastated by a volcanic eruption that occurred between 1627 BC and 1600 BC
