The 36-year-old former Roma and Inter midfielder has ended up in an investigation regarding the importation of cocaine from South America to Europe

Footballer Radja Nainggolan , Belgian international midfielder who played for Roma and Inter, was arrested in Brussels , Belgium, for drug trafficking. Specifically, trafficking of cocaine from South America.

The charge of international drug trafficking

According to local media, the footballer is accused of international drug trafficking and is currently being questioned. Nainggolan, 36, has ended up at the center of an investigation regarding alleged acts of importing cocaine from South America to Europe, through the port of Antwerp, and its redistribution in Belgium.

Searches and interrogations

The Federal Judicial Police of Brussels has carried out around thirty searches, mainly in the province of Antwerp and in Brussels, and also in the suburbs of Brussels. The interrogations are ongoing: for this reason the prosecutor Julien Moinil has declared that at this stage no further comments will be made.

The new adventure and the goal

Nainggolan, who seemed to be on the verge of retirement after the end of his experience in Indonesia, had just returned to the field after more than a year: in January, in fact, he had signed with Lokeren-Temse, a team in the Belgian second division, scoring a goal, directly from a corner, in his debut match.
