The Spanish Ministry of Finance has sent the necessary documentation to request €4.4 billion from the European Union Solidarity Fund following the damage caused by the flood in Valencia on 29 October.
The Commission will analyse the documentation and the figure could be subject to downward variations in the event that some of the expenses are eligible for funding from the PNRR.
In fact, the European regulation does not allow double financing: the beneficiary State must ensure that the costs covered by the Fund are not already covered by other EU financing instruments.
